fight or flight?

i deleted my previous post, it seemed pertinent, but truly, i am just sick of the decisions i have to make. i wish things didn't change, mostly.

in these days people know the price of everything and the value of nothing

keep coming back to this quote by oscar wilde, which seems so fucking salient in my life at the moment. seems like everyone is more interested in the price or social standing that can be achieved in regards to objects, relationships and i guess hobbies. everyone is out to improve themselves on a superficial level and neglect the value of other things which are less socially attractive or appreciated but are probably better for them, or will serve a more positive influence.

guess i have been sort of watching this unfold more clearly over the past few weeks. people valuing relationships with others not on the basis of their value or understanding or feelings, but rather on the social standings of others and their street cred. or valuing certain traits over others which probably matter a lot more.

similarly, in relation to hobbies or career paths. people who perform great acts of courage or actually influence people's lives in a altruistic way are less valued over those who simply do things for the recognition and approval of others. well, i guess everyone does things for approval and recognition, it's not really a bad thing, however, i think the price of things should not supersede the value.


sort of over pretentious wanks. do something worth some recognition.
